One of the most lovable mausoleums of the people of Isfahan is located in the historical Sonbolestan neighborhood, close to the old Dardasht quarter. This mausoleum is called “Darb-e Imam” (meaning “doors of imams”).
This is the mausoleum of the two imam offsprings, Ebrahim Batha and Zeyn-ol’Abedin. According to the book of genealogies “Mizan-onNesab” Zeyn-ol’Abedin descends from the fourth generation originating from the Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq. Today that what differs this particular mausoleum from the other similar tombs is the type of votive offerings (nazri) people are giving there: it is bread and yoghurt. And there is a story of why such offerings are given. Both Ebrahim Batha and Zeyn-ol’Abedin after the martyrdom of the Imam Reza leave with their caravans for Iran in order to express their condolences to the grandchildren of Imam.
The army of Harun al-Rashid chases them. For this reason, Ebrahim Batha and Zeyn-ol’Abedin seek refuge at the grandchildren of Sa’id ibn Jubayr. Sa’id leaves his guests to bring them bread and yoghurt. Meanwhile the enemies reach and kill both of them. Since then till today people praying their wishes to come true offer votive bread and yoghurt.
