Hunch over Hunch!

In the folklore literature of any nation, there are stories that the extract of those stories becomes anecdotes and becomes part of the vocabulary, literature and culture of its people. Knowing the story behind anecdotes is very interesting.

Sometimes they are like fiction stories, sometimes they make us tearful and sometime angry. But the story behind “hunch over hunch” is one of those fiction stories that is always used by the Isfahanis. They say: “one night a hunched back goes to the public bathhouse and he sees the other customers there that are dancing and singing.

So he also joins they’re partying and uses his towel as a Donbak and dances and makes others laugh. The people in the bathhouse that were are goblins, decide to take away one of his hunches because he had warmed up their banquet. The story of the hunched back being cured, was heard by another hunched back.

So, with the intention to cure his hunch, he goes to the bathhouse at midnight and picks up towel and starts singing and dancing. Being unaware that this time the goblins were mourning. They become so upset that they gave him the first hunched back’s hunch, so he had two hunches.
