When you are walking through the Golzar-e Shohada (Martyrs’ Graveyard), you ask yourself why does Isfahan have all these martyrs? Throughout history, we have heard so much about the passion and courage of the people of Isfahan.
They have always been the first at the frontline to save their soil and nation. They even helped other people in saving their nation as well. This courage has history; valid and unimpeachable! Somewhere, the Sassani Kings were quoted on their opinion regarding the Isfahani people, as “Ardeshir Babakan has somewhere said that: no king would have power over the domination of a land, unless the Isfahani army helped”.
In some other texts, Khosrow Parviz was quoted that: “we weren’t be able to take over without the help of the Isfahani army and Anoshirvan preferred the Isfahani army over all armies in the world and among those army men, he selected the Bakhtiyaris who were from Fereydan”. Being a hero is not only being physical strong, yet it is having a strong heart feeling for living and for survival. May all wars be away from this great land.
