Bagh, Chaharbagh and hundreds of years old plane trees are some of the unique characteristics of Isfahan, which every tourist and visitor confirms. There are many stories about the greatness and hugeness of these plane trees. A large plane tree that an Ivan and mansion was built on top of it, a teahouse was built and people go there to drink tea and smoke Houka.

Plane trees that were holly and make wishes comes true. A plane tree that was named after a king, but was the place for cooking the workers’ food. Sometimes a neighborhood’s name would change because of having so many old plane trees. The “Pachenar” neighborhood is one of those neighborhoods that its name has changed.

Throughout the path of Chaharbagh, from Darvazeh Dolat towards south of Sofeh mountain, there are so many thick and large plane trees that unfortunately a large number of them were cut down and sold during Zel Sultan’s time and others were cut down for different events such as building new streets and residential buildings. Nowadays, there is no sign of those old plane trees. A tree that can stay alive as long as a whole century.
