Shahi bridge or Kaju bridge, which it`s name is derived from a place called Khaju or Khaje around the bridge, has been also called in another names such as shirazi bridge, Baba Rokneddin bridge, Gabr bridge,Hassan Abad bridge and Amir hasan beyk bridge.this bridge was built at the time of Shah Abbas ii and most probably on the ruins of Hassan beig bridge. Khaju bridge, a story of glory and beauty, is a bridge that it`s bottom is made of stone and the upper part of it is made of wood.
This is a bridge you can both passing through it and also stay a short in it`s bottom corridors and to heed to beautiful echo of voice too. Tavernier, European traveler ,wrote: on both streets in two sides of the bridge, are two houses which belong to Shah, and there the river bed is more beautiful than every where else, and because this place is deeper than another places, Shah Abbas was forced to build this bridge. Because the steward were in opposite side of the river, and also because they didn`t have to cross the Chahar Bagh paeen street and to shorten the path, the bridge was built in 1057 to 1077 Ah.
