It is told that Alireza Abbasi has written the inscription of portal of the Maghsud Beyk Mosque. After Shah Abbas has expressed his satisfaction with the portal of this mosque, he has ordered him to work on the inscription of Sheikh Lotf Allah Mosque. He gain such popularity with the king that, he has nicknamed “Shah Navaz Khan”.
Behind the lobby of Maghsud Beyk Mosque, in small chamber, Miremad`s mausoleum is located. he was Alireza Abbasi`s rival. About Miremad`s glory has been also spoken a lot, but there is a narrative that explains the cause of Shah Abbas`s estrangement of him.
One day Shah Abbas sent him a salary of seventy tomans, and asked him to write Shahname. This artist considered the wage inadequate, and wrote just 70 couplets, this matter made Shah Abbas angry and the start of creating strangement between them was from this happening . in addition,he had many jealousies in the court. All of these reasons, cause Shah Abbas ordered his murdered . Mir emad was buried secretly in Maghsud Beyk mosque after his death. This mosque is famous among the public with the name “Zolmat(darkness) mosque”.
