The murals on the ceiling of one of the rooms in the northern hall of the Chehel Sotoun Palace is different from the rest.
The story of this room is about a guest who stayed in it for one night, although there are different accounts of this event.
It is said that, once upon a time, Queen Elizabeth II decided to travel to Iran and Isfahan.
It was in 1339 SH that the Chehel Sotoun Palace was chosen and prepared to accommodate the Queen.
In the northern hall of the mansion, there was a room chosen for this purpose, for which at first a carpet was woven and then, in accordance with the carpet, the ceiling of the room was painted.
Also, the trees in the outer spaces of the mansion were cut down and grass was planted in there for the first time, in honour of Queen Elizabeth’s entrance.
The trip aroused much controversy.
